Wangaratta is a large rural town. Wangaratta itself is rather like any other town however the areas around Wangaratta is very scenic and there is great wine and food in the Millawa district and the berry farms are also great. You can pick you own berries in the summer months

For years my family have always taken the turnoff to Wangaratta on our way down to Melbourne just to get the dim sims from a little chinese take away shop on the main street. This shop has been there for as long as I can remember and they have the best service and dim sims in Victoria, maybe the whole of Australia. There is a big park in Wangaratta which is great to go and sit down by the man-made lake and have a bite to eat. A nice main street with some interesting shops and pubs. Friendly locals and cheap accommodation.

Another lovely Australian town. This one is close to the Milwala food and wine areas and is good to base yourself at.

Wangaratta\'s Airworld Aviation Museum (7kms south) and Mad Dog Morgan\'s Grave are some of the points of interest. Wineries ( Brown Bros) at Milawa is worth a visit as is the King Valley scenic drive.

Wangaratta is a city in North Eastern Victoria. It is located approx 15kms to Benalla which is considered Ned Kelly Country. In the old days Ned Kelly and his gang traversed this part of Northern Victoria. Wangaratta has all amenities that a large country town offers. It also is the gateway to the Milawa Wine and Gourmet food district, home to the Brown Brothers Winery and other wineries. Wangaratta also has a large areodrome that host airshows.
