HOBART what's on offer near US!!
The precinct of North Hobart has developed as a unique restaurant & art strip. Today there are over 20 restaurants of varied culinary delights to tempt the taste buds, all located within easy walking distance from our cottages.

A few of our favourites being Annapurna - Southern & Northern Indian cuisine, Vanidols - Asian cuisine, Dede - Indonesian & Thai, Amulet - fine dining experience!

Artworks are to be found at a number of galleries as you stroll the Elizabeth St precinct - Dick Bett Gallery featuring ever changing artworks from all over Australia and having an excellent reputation for fine collectable art.
Just a 10 minute stroll down Murray St takes one into the heart of historic Hobart. Don't miss the Allport Collection housed at the Library in Murray St; it's a stunning collection of memorabilia.

Every child’s favourite is the Cat & Fiddle Arcade where the clock chimes on the hour & all the animals perform. 20 years ago even we stopped with our children on our first visit to Tassie to experience this unique clock.

Salamanca Markets & the wharf front at Constitution docks (just 15 min walk) is home to the finish of the famous Sydney to Hobart yacht race and throughout the year is a vibrant colour of sea life, whether it is the fishing fleet in port or just the visiting yachts from all parts of the world. Enjoy the wonderful new resurrection of the Henry Jones IXL building, now featuring galleries, restaurants and shops.

Thoroughly enjoyed the Cottage. Well located for piece and quiet in a delightful part of Hobart.

We three couples stayed in the Cottage for 4 days and 3 nights. We are older people and found the cottage comfortable even though the staircase was steep. It became an exercise routine. We were most happy to meet the ghost. The lady obviously belongs to the house and Ruth, who saw her, is very sensitive to the presence of spirits. We all felt the house had a peaceful feel so the "presence" was not unhappy. The nearby gourmet deli is the best we have seen and we come from Melbourne. The walks were a challange but we were all fit so again we took them as a challange. Congratulations on the work you have carried out on the cottage. Everything worked well and was comfortable. We will be back one day.

A delightful experience. Nothing has been overlooked in making one's stay very comfortable.A most memorable time in a cosy, homely and atmospheric cottage.
    Howard - February 2005
We had an excellent experience here. The house was very comfortable and well-stocked, a nice place to repair to even on rainy days. Three nights in a row we strolled over to nearby Elizabeth Street and enjoyed a different cuisine each night (Indonesian, Vietnamese and Turkish). The house is on a quiet residential street, but the business district and tourist centers are easy walking. We have only praise for the accommodation and for Hobart and for Julie.
